TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- A ridge of high pressure is expected to weaken over the next several days as an upper level trough nears the region. This means that our rain chances will increase toward the weekend, though much of the rain is still expected in the afternoon like we see on a typical summer day.

Tonight, lows fall to the lower and mid 70s with a mostly clear sky. Rain chances are expected to drop off mainly after sunset, so we'll stay dry overnight. Winds will be calm to light from the west southwest at 5 mph.

Thursday will be similar to Wednesday with humid conditions, partly cloudy skies and scattered rain and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon. Highs heat to the lower 90s with a west southwest wind of 5 to 10 mph. Much like tonight, rain chances, clouds, and temperatures drop after sunset. Lows fall back near 74 degrees with a gradually clearing sky.
