On this day in 1982, Boulder, CO experienced significant damage from Chinook winds. Chinooks appear on the Eastern side of the Rockies in winter, bringing along welcomed warm conditions -- and not so welcome damaging winds. This particular event left Boulder residents reeling from wind gusts that reached 137 mph, uprooting trees and damaging homes.
