While we are still dealing with this cold and the wintry weather that has been here the past couple of days, listen to this interesting fact.

On this day in 2005, North Georgia was hit hard by a fierce ice storm that lasted from the 30th to the 31st. Ice accretion in some areas southeast of Atlanta was as great as 2 inches. Power outages across the area at the height of the storm affected as many as 320,000 homes and businesses.
