While much of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic are digging out of several inches if not feet of snow, listen to this interesting fact.
On this day in 1958, the biggest snowstorm during the mid 20th century hit the Northeastern United States. This snow storm dropped 30 inches in some interior portions of New England. More than 19 inches in just 24 hours fell at the Boston Airport. Around the Mid-Atlantic region, up to 3 feet of snow could be seen. Reports of 14 inches came in for Washington, D.C. and 15.5" in Baltimore, MD. This storm was so fierce that 43 deaths were reported, along with 500 million dollars in damages across the Mid-Atlantic Coast States.
