A warm up in Sochi could bring some potential problems for the scheduled events. A weak disturbance will bring some rain to Sochi on Tuesday, and some fresh powder at elevations above 3,000 feet. The high on Tuesday will be in the mid 50s, but warming up to near 60 degrees by Wednesday.
This is a concern for officials because it will be hard to keep the snow from melting. It will also be more difficult for maintenance crews to keep the courses in tip-top shape. Temperatures look like they will cool off by next weekend.
