MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- As of the 5 p.m. ET advisory, Tropical Storm Earl continues to gain strength. Current sustained winds are at 50 mph with gusts up to 65 mph. It is moving west at 16 mph.
Currently, tropical storm warnings are in effect for coastal portions of Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras. In addition, hurricane watches are in effect for coastal Belize.
The storm is not expected to have direct impacts on the U.S.
