MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The disturbance in the western Atlantic has formed into Tropical Depression Eleven. Winds are sustained at 35 mph and the storm is moving very slowly to the northwest in the open Atlantic. While the system is south of Bermuda, it is not expected to impact that island directly. The same can be said for the eastern seaboard of the U.S. The forecast track does not have the system becoming a tropical storm.
Meanwhile, the tropical wave in the Gulf is struggling to organize but still has a 40% chance of organizing into a tropical cyclone. Interests along Florida's Gulf coast should keep track of the system's potential for heavy rain and isolated severe storms.
