Philippines (WTXL) -- Typhoon Ruby has weakened considerably after making landfall in the Philippines earlier this weekend. As of 11pm ET, winds are sustained at 70 mph (which makes it tropical storm strength) and heavy rains continue to be a threat as the system slowly pushes toward Manilla.
The storm will push away after Wednesday and impact southern parts of Vietnam before dissipating by next weekend.
