TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - No named tropical systems are currently impacting the Atlantic, but we are monitoring a few areas of interest that could potentially form into the next named storm "Ida" by the end of the work week.
A wave that pushed from the coast of Africa yesterday has a 70% chance of forming into a tropical system as it moves westward. Another storm cluster in the eastern Atlantic has a 60% chance of forming into a tropical system.
Closer to home, a tropical wave near the coast of Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula has diminished in nature and only has a 10% chance of forming over the next few days.
Stay tuned for further updates this afternoon.
