TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) -- A weak area of low pressure by West Palm Beach, Florida has a 10% chance of cyclonic formation over the next 5 days. The low is continuing to produce thunderstorms, however significant development is unlikely since it will be moving inland this afternoon and evening. This system is forecast to produce heavy rain and gusty winds locally today and tomorrow.
Tropical storm Ian will continue moving away from the United States towards the north-northwest at 13 mph. It currently has sustained winds of 45 mph and is forecast to strengthen a bit by Wednesday and Thursday before weakening in the long term. Ian will continue to accelerate and remain a tropical storm.
A tropical wave east of the Cape Verde Islands has a 30% chance of cyclonic formation over the next 5 days. Slow development is possible over the next few days as this system continues moving west-northwest at 10-15 mph over the Atlantic.
