The remnants of tropical storm Dorian are currently located north of the island of Hispaniola and will continue westward. The system has a 20% chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 48 hours and will continue to be monitored as it approaches the Gulf of Mexico. Within that time, it will cross into an area of drier air and will be affected by winds high up in the atmosphere that will not be conducive for development.
The rest of the Atlantic Basin is looking quiet and no tropical development is expected within the next 48 hours.
