The Atlantic basin remains quiet this morning, with very few areas of note. Some weak waves coming off the coast of Africa are not expected to develop due to a strong high pressure system in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The Gulf of Mexico is also clear of systems. The only feature of note is a non-tropical surface low forming in the northern Gulf, bringing in moisture and showers to our area. Strong upper level winds and dry air are expected to prevent any tropical development for the next 5 days.
