The tropics are looking quiet at this time. Showers will continue to move North-Northeast and away from our area. Looking off the coast of Africa, there are a couple of small disturbances causing shower and thunderstorm activity. The first is a fairly weak wave a few hundred miles south-southeast of Bermuda; it has a 20% chance of forming into a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours. The second cluster of showers and thunderstorms is located about 400 miles south-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands. This system looking a little more impressive, it has a 40% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours. We’ll keep a close eye on these to systems throughout the week.
