TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - An elongated area of low pressure is sitting over the eastern Gulf near Tampa Bay, and though it's stationary in nature, churning away, there's a general lack of storms building in the system meaning that it's not expected to turn tropical. It will edge back north and move into our area allowing for a wet weekend at hand, but it won't be tropical in nature.
Elsewhere, the tropics remain rather quiet.
