TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Hurricane Joaquin is still churning away north of Bermuda in the open Atlantic. It is still a Category 1 system and is picking up speed as it moves farther to the northeast. Even as it transitions out of a tropical system, it'll still pack winds of 50 mph as it approaches the United Kingdom. It looks like it'll be a windy, soggy weekend in store for some of our European friends.
Meanwhile in the far eastern Atlantic, a tropical wave has a slim (10%) chance of forming through the weekend.
Stay tuned this afternoon for further updates.
