MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The former Tropical Storm Colin is now a post-tropical low, racing into the western Atlantic from the North Carolina Outer Banks region. The system is not expected to re-generate into a tropical storm or depression because of the hostile upper-air flow near its location.

A corridor of moisture remains in place over the western Caribbean, with no clear surface low organization in its midst.  The upper winds will remain active in this region, and into the central Gulf through most of the rest of this week.  A cold front will move from the interior Southeast into the central Gulf and central Florida peninsula.  Some forecast guidance are attempting to show a faint low-pressure formation along the stalled frontal system later this week.

For the time being, there is a very slim chance to have robust development of a tropical system in the Gulf this week.  However, stationary fronts have been capable of generating tropical activity in the past, so the forecast trends regarding this will be closely monitored.
