MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- A minor point of interest in the tropical scene today is practically directly overhead of the north Florida region. The broad low-pressure disturbance that's creating a soggy scenario for many, and flooding conditions for some, is lining along the northeastern Gulf coast area, but its continued and future impacts with land in the southeastern United States will inhibit any development efforts. Heavy rain is still expected for several areas along the Gulf coast, the Mississippi River Valley, and some interior Deep South locations.
The rest of the tropical Atlantic basin is relatively inactive, and new tropical cyclone formation isn't anticipated within the next few days.
