Don forecast track (2 pm 07/18/2017)

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) --  Tropical Storm Don is approaching the southern edge of the Windward Islands with peak winds of 40 mph.  The storm continues on its westward track, expected to further weaken as it nears the northern coast of South America and nearby islands.  Dry air and faster upper-level winds in the southern Caribbean will contribute to the storm's likely demise.

A second disturbance east of Don has not organized into a true tropical cyclone and has low-end potential to become one in the next several days.  It is also battling against limited moisture sources in the proximity of the disturbance.  Slow development is possible but long-term strengthening appears to be less possible.
