MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Hurricane Nicole has undergone a revival in strength levels as it moves north to northeast in the near-term, generally in the direction of Bermuda, where hurricane warnings are in effect Tuesday in advance of a possible close encounter with the hurricane. Nicole should not hassle other areas of land in its continued journey into the north Atlantic through this week, with a gradual transition late this week into an extratropical or post-tropical system.
A few clusters of moisture exist in the southern reaches of the north Atlantic, but upper-level winds have increased drastically in this zone. These winds will hinder any development efforts of disturbances in this region.
There are no short-term concerns elsewhere in the Atlantic basin. However, the hurricane season runs through November 30, and continued monitoring of these waters for future activity will be maintained.
