MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tropical Storm Bill made landfall near Matagorda Bay, Texas, early Tuesday afternoon. Peak wind speeds were 60 mph. Bands of heavy rain were streaming in from Matagorda Bay northeastward through the Houston/Galveston area.
The rest of the tropical Atlantic basin is rather quiet and uneventful, and no developing tropical systems are forecast for the next several days.
