MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- A large area of dry air in the Atlantic Ocean has hindered the strengthening and organization efforts of a few disturbances along the convergence zone between the west African coast and the Lesser Antilles, where August tropical system usually originate.  The previously classified "94L" system has encountered this dry patch and lost a significant amount of its moisture source, leading to some weakening and lower development potential in the near-term.  Nonetheless, this and other nearby systems will still be monitored for changes in their strengths and forms.

No other areas of concern exist in the rest of the Atlantic, the Gulf, and the Caribbean.
