MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Hurricane Gaston remain over the open North Atlantic with Category 2 classification.  The storm will not threaten any land masses in the next couple of days.

Tropical Depression Eight is situated near the Outer Banks of North Carolina, with a forecast track skimming the coastal zones and potentially becoming a tropical storm in the process.

Tropical Depression Nine is moving slowly west-northwestward in the south-central Gulf of Mexico, some 350 miles south of the northern Gulf coast.  More details on this system specifically, as well as possible local impacts, can be found in a separate article here in the Hurricane Center of wtxl.tv.
