MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the WTXL First Alert Weather Center ...

Spotty areas of showers and rain will continue to move south to north, scattered across our local landscape through the rest of this evening. While most rain events will be brief, they can be locally heavy with the rain action.  A few thunderstorms are also possible, especially near the tri-state, but severe weather is not anticipated. Leftover cloudiness is forecast for the overnight hours with a few light showers, and lows near 70°. Sunshine will be off-and-on Wednesday, with periods of passing rain and afternoon storms, with highs reaching the mid 80s in most cases.  Plenty of moisture will influence ongoing scattered variety of showers and storms through the rest of the week, while the upcoming weekend will have a surge of tropical moisture and higher rain coverage in response to a developing low-pressure disturbance in the central Gulf of Mexico.
