FAIRDALE, IL (WTXL / ABC) - Severe weather took aim on the Midwest, spawning a large wedge tornado in Fairdale, near Rochelle, Illinois. It was one of several reported in the region. The storms also produced tennis ball-size hail.
The Ogle County Sheriff's Office says one person was killed with multiple reports of injuries and widespread damage. They also say 12 people were pulled from the rubble of a local restaurant.
