MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- There are two areas of interest in the tropical waters of the Atlantic.

We'll start off closer to home, with a disturbance expected to organize in the Western Caribbean. This will move into the Yucatán Peninsula and the Bay of Campeche (SW Gulf of Mexico) after that. This system has a 40% chance of developing within the next five days. At this point, it will likely stay west of Florida, though interests along the Gulf coast should continue to monitor the progress of whatever forms.

Far away in the eastern Atlantic, a rare June Cape Verde tropical wave showed healthy signs of organization yesterday. While looking weaker today, the system still has a 20% chance of developing within the next five days.

More updates on these systems will be available later this afternoon.
