MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- There are two points of interest to follow for this Tropics check.
Tropical Storm Fiona continues to slowly strengthen. As of the 5am advisory, winds are sustained at 45 mph and it is pushing to the WNW. It is not expected to become a hurricane. By next week, Fiona is expected to turn more to the north and it is not a U.S. threat.
In addition, a disturbance over Africa is about to move offshore its west coast. The National Hurricane Center is giving this disturbance a 10% chance of development within the next five days. More updates on this area and Fiona will come later this afternoon.
