The remnants of what used to be tropical storm Chantal are progressing northward and past the eastern Bahamas. The National Hurricane Center is still keeping a close eye at the remnants, as it has a 20% of developing in the next 48 hours. The showers and thunderstorms associated with it still contain gusty winds that are just shy of tropical storm strength. The tropical wave containing some of Chantal's remnants will move northward and could possibly impact South Carolina, bringing the potential for heavy rainfall. Other than the tropical wave over the Bahamas, the Atlantic Basin is devoid of tropical development.
