TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - We're currently monitoring two systems in the Atlantic Basin. A newly-formed low pressure system has been swirling over the Bahamas and is expected to drift westward into south Florida. At this point, it doesn't have the best chance of formation, only around 30% over the next week. This is because a ridge of high pressure has set up over the Deep South feeding dry air into this system. In the long term, this could throw a little more moisture into our area, but for now, we'll see minimal impacts from this system. Elsewhere, another tropical system currently being investigated is west of Cape Verde which has an 80% chance of tropical formation over the next week. If this forms into a named system, it'll be called Edouard.
