The tropics are pretty quiet for today and they should stay that way. One area we’re still observing is the disturbance located a few hundred miles southwest of the Cape Verde Islands. This wave hasn't improved much this week, but still holds 30% chance to become a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours, before it looks like it will fizzle out over the next five days.
