MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Frigid, Arctic air is held strong in place over the southeast. Warmer air looks to return by the weekend.

Thursday: Morning lows in the lower 20s are being experienced for the morning with a breeze from the north making it feel even COLDER. Wind chills will be in the teens for many spots this morning. For the afternoon, mainly sunny skies are forecast with highs in the upper 40s.

Friday: Morning lows in the lower 20s are anticipated again with highs forecast to be in the 50s. Mainly sunny skies are forecast.

Saturday and Sunday: Warmer air looks to return with morning lows in the 30s (likely near freezing on Saturday) with highs in the mid to upper 60s. As winds shift to more of an east to southeast direction, a few clouds may form but mainly clear skies are anticipated.

Monday and Tuesday: As a cold front from the west approaches by Monday afternoon, temperatures will continue to warm with lows near 50° and highs near 70°. Rain coverage will increase to around 30%. Tuesday will likely start with cloudy skies and elevated rain coverage (40%). Expect highs to be in the 60s with lows in the 40s.
