MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The current named systems in the Atlantic, tropical storms Lisa and Karl, are forecast to remain in the open waters of the ocean through their respective life spans. No land impacts are projected from these systems.
A newly forming wave is set to enter the eastern Atlantic from west Africa over the next couple of days. Long-range forecast guidance indicates the system has modest chances to encounter a strengthening and organization phase which would support it becoming a tropical depression in about five to seven days as it travels westward in the southern latitudes of the north Atlantic. This disturbance has a lengthy distance to travel before possibly affecting any land masses in the Caribbean or beyond.
