MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- A disturbance near Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula is forecast to drift back over the warmer Gulf waters and the Bay of Campeche, where some modest organization may occur. The system will maintain a west to northwest path of movement. Development chances remain low, but regardless of any rate of intensification, all indications show the system moving toward the Mexican Gulf coast, and not threatening the northern or eastern Gulf region.
Other masses of moisture off the Outer Banks of North Carolina and in the southern latitudes of the North Atlantic have little to no chance to further strengthen into tropical systems, and, other than the Bay of Campeche point of interest, the tropics in general should remain relatively inactive in the near-term.
