The main source of tropical activity remains present in the eastern Atlantic, a good distance southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, situated in a pattern of light upper winds and ample moisture. There's still a window of opportunity over the next couple of days for the disturbance to gain tropical depression strength before weakening factors occur near the system.
The remnants of Tropical Storm Karen are now a stronger low-pressure circulation merged with a front, which will bring gusty winds and heavy rain into the Delmarva Peninsula and the Jersey Shore, but it won't regain tropical characteristics.
There are no other organized points of concern in the Atlantic basin waters.
