MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Two modest tropical waves are present in the southern latitudes of the north Atlantic. These features are battling a very dry air mass, which will slow any strengthening efforts for the time being. However, the upper-level environment will become more favorable for at least a better chance for one or both of these systems to acquire more organization. This process may take several days to take hold. These disturbances have low-end chance to develop into a tropical depression, but likely not within the next two to four days.
Regardless of future development, these waves are a long distance from the United States mainland, and no threatening conditions are expected in the near-term.
