Things are heating up a bit in the tropics as Tropical Storm Erin makes her way westward in the Atlantic Ocean. Currently located near the African coastline, Erin does not pose a threat to the United States at least in the short term outlook. Also, with some dry air and a little shear, the system does not look to strengthen rapidly over the weekend, reaming at the tropical storm level. As for the waters closer to home, we currently have a system that is off the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. This system is currently struggling to develop, yet still will be a major rain maker, no matter the wind strength. As the weekend progresses expect the moisture from this system to push northward into our direction and bring good amounts of rain to the Tallahassee region. In any case, you can always get the latest updates here on ABC 27 with your Storm Team.
