MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Gaston is the tropical storm in the open Atlantic that has encountered stronger upper wind shear which caused a slight dip in intensity. That system will remain well out to sea.
The tropical disturbance impacting Puerto Rico and the island of Hispaniola is still considerably disorganized. Moisture from the system is more likely to head toward the southern Florida peninsula over the weekend. The system may cross into the eastern Gulf beyond that time and develop further. A separate analysis of this situation will be available in the Hurricane Center section of wtxl.tv.
