MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- A broad but disorganized system in the western Caribbean has only marginal chances for near-term development before a cold front and a faster upper flow negatively impacts its ability to strengthen. The system, in the meantime, will likely drift to the northwest before being nudged to the north and northeast through the weekend by the approaching front. After that time, the system will still have minimal chances to develop. If it did, chances are it would continue on a path toward the open Atlantic through early next week.
No other disturbances are showing signs of any development potential in other parts of the Atlantic basin.
