Tropical Depression 9 just formed off the coast of Africa. This storm will continue to move west and then eventually turn to the N/NW. Moist air, warm sea surface temperatures, and low wind shear should allow this system to gradually strengthen...it could become hurricane strength within the next 72 hours. It looks as this system will be minimal threat to land and not affect us locally.
The remnants of tropical storm Gabrielle are located 400 miles NE of the southeastern Bahamas, This system is very disorganized. Over the next few days it appears the the upper level winds will become even less conducive for intensification to occur. It is moving NE at 10 mph and has been given a 10% chance of development over the next 48 hours.
