TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Looking at the tropics, we are only watching on area of interest.
A large area of thunderstorm and shower activity is sitting in the west-central Gulf of Mexico. This disturbance is producing very strong winds and heavy rain across the northwest Gulf of Mexico. Parts of Texas and Louisiana will begin feeling these strong winds and heavy rains later Sunday night into Monday. Since the environmental conditions do not appear to support much development, the National Hurricane Center has given this a 20% chance of formation in the next five days.
