MIDWAY, FL. (WTXL) -- The tropics are remaining active with Hurricane Nicole and now a disturbance over the Bahamas.

The disturbance over the most of the Bahamas and the adjacent waters is rather disorganized at the moment. Over the next five days, there is a 30% chance that this could develop into a tropical depression. Until then, the Bahamas will be experiencing locally heavy rainfall for the next few days.

Hurricane Nicole is continuing to push into the north Atlantic Ocean at a speed of 7 mph with sustained winds of 85 mph. Over the next few days, the storm will move even further into the far north Atlantic, where the cooler sea surface temperatures and stable atmosphere will help push Hurricane Nicole into an extratropical low.
