MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The tropical Atlantic is quiet. There are a few disorganized batches of moisture across the western Caribbean and the open Atlantic near Africa, but nothing looks to develop anytime soon. Dry air is in the eastern Atlantic, which will impede any tropical development out in the east as tropical cyclones need moist air to form thunderstorms and intensify. So as we move away from the peak of the hurricane season, so far we have had five named storms, four of which have been hurricanes, and one which had become major (Edouard).
