TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - The summer solstice officially kicks off Monday evening at 6:34 pm ET.
This time marks when the Northern Hemisphere has the most significant tilt towards the sun of 23.5°. Because of this tilt, we have the longest amount of daylight with 13 hours and 52 minutes between sunrise and sunset.
Each and every day will be slightly "shorter" until we have the least amount of sunlight at the beginning of winter.
