(WTXL/NWS) -- A significant storm system is forecast to strengthen Monday into Tuesday as low pressure in the Mississippi River Valley tracks east toward the Atlantic Ocean.
As this storm system moves into the Atlantic Ocean, it will tap into an unstable and moist air mass, and the system is forecast to intensify and dump snow all across the Mid-Atlantic and New England areas.
This developing system has prompted winter storm warnings, gale warnings, and even blizzard warnings. Over a foot of snow is possible along with heavy winds that likely impact the northeast as this low tracks across the Western Atlantic.
