MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Cloud cover is expected to stay on the increased side, especially closer toward I-75 as Tropical Storm Julia churns over extreme Northeast Florida. The Tropical Storm is expected to stay over land through week's end, and rain is expected to wrap around its center, increasing the rain threat for eastern counties along I-75. This includes Echols, Clinch, Lowndes, Hamilton, Suwannee, Columbia counties in Georgia and Florida. High temperatures today will vary, with highs in the lower 80s east, and mid to upper 80s west, where more sun is expected. Rain coverage is at least 60% this afternoon. Lows tonight, are forecast to drop to the low to mid 70s.
As Julia churns slowly north, much of the forecast remains unchanged, but western counties may see more sun and more heat on Thursday. Forecast highs are closer to 90 degrees with rain coverage around 40%. Through the weekend, we'll be in an environment that can still support decent rain coverage so keep those umbrellas handy.
