TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - More southerly winds today due to a high pressure system in the Western Atlantic which will keep our rain coverage on the high side at 60% with highs in the upper 70s. Some severe storms are possible later in the afternoon. For Christmas eve high pressure will begin to move closer to the coast keeping the area dry but very warm with highs in the low to mid 80s and lows in the mid to upper 60s. Record breaking heat for Christmas is expected with highs reaching the mid 80s. The area of high pressure isn't expected to move much over the weekend so temperatures for the rest of December will be on the warm side with lows in the upper 60s and highs in the low 80s. Rain coverage returns by the start of next week as the next frontal system approaches.
