Storm Team Wednesday morning forecast (08/20/2014)

TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Fewer storms are to be expected today, especially for folks in South Georgia.  The upper level disturbance has sunk farther to the south allowing most storminess to boil up over our Florida counties, but I'm not expecting as widespread of rainfall as we've seen the last couple days.  However, a few of the storms can still be on the stronger to near severe side, but again not as many as we've seen in previous days.  Temps still get into the mid 90s by the early afternoon.  Tonight, we'll dip into the mid 70s with some patchy fog expected, just like we've seen each and every day this week.  Thursday, the drying continues as a dome of high pressure sets up along the Gulf coast ushering in a land breeze out of the northwest bumping temps up significantly.  Upper 90s to near 100° actual air temperature readings are expected with heat index values climbing above 105°. Stay hydrated and stay safe heading into the weekend, where we'll still see much of the same conditions.  By Monday though, another low pressure system develops to our north which will usher in more widespread rain chances and moderate temps down to the low and mid 90s for afternoon highs.
