We’re working a pretty weak disturbance through today that brought more clouds than anything else. However, a broken line of showers and isolated thunder will be passing by for the rest of Wednesday. Meanwhile, because of all the clouds, temperatures have been held back; we’ll top out in the mid or upper 60s today. Thursday starts off chilly with lows in the mid and upper 30s with scattered clouds and no rain. Thursday afternoon will be peaceful with highs in the mid 60s and ample sunshine. Friday afternoon the unsettledness resumes with a wave of low pressure approaching late in the day sparking a few showers; highs will be around 70°. The major rain player arrives all day Saturday and much of Sunday before clearing Monday. Our biggest issue with this next system appears to be long lasting rain which may lead to flooding. Early estimates paint on another 3-4” on average with higher amounts, especially in South Georgia. Rivers and soils are still very saturated from the major rain at the end of February. It’s too early to speculate on severe weather but a few thunderstorms may be embedded in the rain Sunday morning. I mentioned this briefly during Tuesday’s Noon broadcast, much of next week will be chilly; if we get max cooling behind the weekend rain we’re looking at lows back in the 30s with highs struggling to get into the 60s. Still tons of time for it to change but it doesn’t look like classic spring arrives here for quite some time, stay tuned!
Be safe and have a great Wednesday!
