TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - A quiet few days ahead before the weather pattern turns more active heading into the weekend. A weak high pressure system has slipped towards the east coast allowing for dry conditions, albeit cooler than we saw on Tuesday. Temps will get towards seasonable levels in the mid 60s this afternoon after starting the morning off in the upper 30s. Temps tonight will be similar to what we saw this morning with the skies remaining clear. Highs tomorrow get into the mid 60s again--perhaps being a hair warmer than we see today. By this weekend, a low pressure system tracks along the Gulf Coast right over the Big Bend and South Georgia bringing in widespread showers and a few embedded thunderstorms. Computer model guidance generally indicates we could see about a quarter of an inch of rain widespread. Temps will be back in the low 70s. Winter officially starts on Sunday, though it'll feel a bit more like early November with highs near 70° and a few isolated showers possible. Another low develops and advances towards the southeast U.S. early next week which could bring us more rain chances before the busy Christmas travel.
