MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- The front that helped to spark increased shower and storm activity Tuesday continues to dissipate and high pressure to the north will begin to take hold of the southeast for the next few days, as we head into the weekend. This drier high pressure system will pull in winds from the northeast, promoting more dry air to move into our area. This should help limit rain chances through the early weekend. Even though this high pressure system will be pulling winds from the northeast, we are still expecting afternoon high temperatures to be above 90 degrees every day. What is key with the change is that the drier air will lower the "feels like" temperatures and what you see on the thermometer is what you will likely get
For today, expect highs to be hot with lower 90s inland, and upper 80s to near 90 degrees along the coast. Rain coverage Wednesday will be around 30% as the lingering energy from the front can spark an isolated shower or storm. Moving into Wednesday night and Thursday morning, morning lows will range in the low to mid 70s.
Thursday through Saturday, the forecast calls for minimal rain opportunities, with coverage at < 20%. Afternoon highs through the weekend can still reach the mid 90s. At the end of the weekend, the forecast is uncertain due to the advance of tropical moisture in the Caribbean.
