The morning started off cool and breezy, with early morning temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s. A few storms continued to move southeast throughout North Florida and South Georgia. The storms brought moderate rainfall and a few lightning strikes. After the line of storms pass, most of our local area will warm up under partly sunny skies. By the afternoon hours, showers and thunderstorms will move into our region from the west. A cold front will slowly dip into northern Alabama and Georgia and is expected to stall out into tomorrow. The unsettled air associated with it will contribute to shower and storm development into southwest Georgia. Taking all of these features into consideration, a 60% chance of rain is forecast for today. Most of the rain activity will occur in the afternoon to early evening hours. Rain chances will slowly decrease by the weekend into the 20% to 30% range and afternoon temperatures will be in the lower 90s each day.
